Canadian Gem Emm Gryner has announced that she will be releasing a new album in February 2009. The album will be titled Goddess. Emm noted in a recent blog post that the album is a 'winter album, with it's minor keys and strings' which is a contrast to her most recent album, released in 2006, The Summer of High Hopes.
Jump past the break for a little more insight on the album!
The Summer of High Hopes is an upbeat, summer-time album. Goddess is a callback to that, showing off the opposite side of her writing. The new tracks have some interesting titles, as many of Emm's previous albums have had as well.
The album will feature ten songs. The official order of the tracklisting hasn't been confirmed, but Emm has confirmed the ten tracks featured on the album.
DIE EVERGREEN
MATCH
GODDESS
LET IT SNOW
KILLING SPREE
EMPTY HOLE
NOTE 2 SELF
SKATING RINK
YOUNG IS THE NIGHT
LEFTOVER LOVE
Let It Snow is not a cover of the classic Christmas song. It is a full studio version of a song previously released on a limited EP sold at live shows.
The album is expected to drop in February 2009 on Dead Daisy Records. Expect a Pre-Order, with possible contest and bonus content, in January 2009.
